Entry requirements
 Short Term Study Visa from UKVI
 Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
 Applicants must hold a suitable school leaving certificate
 A minimum English level at CEFR level B1 (equivalent IELTS score of 4.0 or above).
 All learners will be required to complete an initial assessment before enrolment.

Course Description
Our ‘Preparation for IELTS’ course is a full-cost course designed primarily for international students who require an IELTS test certificate in order to meet university entry requirements.

If you require a specific band for university entry then our professional teachers will be able to provide expert advice and guidance on how to improve your English level.

Who is the course suitable for?
We offer a range courses for people who need to take the IELTS exam and improve their scores for the following purposes:
 College and University applications
 Visa applications with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)
 Employers in areas such as business, catering, tourism, medicine, or engineering.

Course content
This course aims to improve your use of English across the four language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), with a focus on developing accurate and appropriate use of grammatical structures, the range and appropriateness of vocabulary, communication style and structure, and oral fluency. You will also be encouraged to reflect on your own approaches to language learning to support your development as an independent learner.

Employability Skills Development
We will support your professional development throughout the course, discussing the range of jobs available and linking them to your skills and experience in the Hospitality and Catering Industry.

How will the course be taught?
Courses can begin in September (35 weeks), January (21 weeks), and April (9 weeks). The course is taught from Monday to Friday, 4 taught hours a day between 09:00 and 16:30.
There will be taught sessions, group working and research and workshops.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Every student has a personal tutor who will meet with their tutees on a regular basis to ensure they are making good progress. Tutors make sure that you receive regular feedback, manage your workload and meet college expectations.

Please note that students will be required to pay £150 (subject to change) to register for each official IELTS test exam that they choose to take.
