A Tier 4 (General) Student Visa from UKVI
CEFR Level B2 (equivalent IELTS score of 6.0 or above).

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery (QCF) is a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills to work in a professional cooking environment. Specifically you will learn how to maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment and develop productive working relationships with colleagues. You will also learn how to maintain food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food.
Who is the course suitable for?
The optional units that make up this qualification will allow you to tailor your learning to your employer’s needs and your personal interests and preferences. Units range from preparing, cooking and finishing and variety of complex dishes to contributing to the control of resources and the development of recipes and menus.
This course prepares you with skills and knowledge in a variety of topics that will prepare you for the next level of education or a job in the Catering Sector.
Development of Maths and English
The College also supports and encourages the development of your core Maths and English skills which will be improved through the programme, but for those looking to develop further it is possible to undertake additional programmes and gain additional Maths and English qualifications.
Employability Skills Development
Throughout the course you will be working in a simulated work environment to help develop and prepare you for employment in the Hospitality and Catering sector.
How will the course be taught?
You will be taught by highly qualified and experienced professionals who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to learn and progress to the next level. Lectures, discussions, independent research online exams and practical tasks. You will also have access to e-Learning material which will allow you to study away from the College.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Every student has a personal tutor who will meet with their tutees on a regular basis to ensure they are making good progress. Tutors make sure that you receive regular feedback, manage your workload and meet college expectations.
Are there any additional costs?
Coming to college is a full time commitment and you will need to ensure that you have factored in the cost of travelling to college and potentially to a local work placement. We do recommend a few good resources that you can choose to purchase if you wish. We may request contributions are made to trips and outings.
